Christening candles

Baptism is a very important moment in the life of every parent. In connection with this ceremony, parents have a lot of things to do, both in church and those related to the reception for their loved ones. In the rush of preparations, you must not forget about your child's outfit. It is worth looking at various options in advance so as not to order something random and unsuitable. Running around the shops at the last minute can end in different ways. Usually, you simply choose what is available. By taking care of this a few weeks in advance, we can be sure that our child will look special during the ceremony.

When buying clothes for a christening, don't forget about all the accessories. One of the most important is, of course, the christening candle. It is an integral part of the ceremony, if only because of its symbolism. According to tradition, the godfather should buy the christening candle. Of course, this rule is not particularly often followed today, but it is worth considering. Parents have a lot of responsibilities before the christening ceremony, so it is often worth asking for help and, at the same time, referring to tradition.

The baptismal candle takes on special significance when it is lit during the ceremony. First of all, it symbolizes the ignition of faith in the soul. It also signifies the child's joining the community.

Christening candles – meaning

The baptismal candle is lit by the godfather. Inner faith should be sustained by the godparents. It is for these reasons that the candle plays such an important role during the ceremony. Baptism is not the only occasion during which this important element is used. First Communion is the second sacrament when a baptismal candle is essential. The light of the candle also symbolizes divine providence. Candles are used during subsequent sacraments. Baptism initiates this, and subsequent important ceremonies emphasize the significance of this element.

No one can imagine the first sacrament without a baptismal candle. It takes on symbolic meaning the moment it is lit for the first time and accompanies a person throughout their life. A baptismal candle is an element that is kept as a memento, as something that will be used in the future.
